1. What makes Scrub Be Love sponges eco-friendly?
Our sponges are made primarily from plant-based materials like coconut coir and wood pulp cellulose. Most sponges are made with materials and additives most people don’t think twice about. Ours are made without BPA, PFAS, phthalates, or endocrine disruptors while still delivering the performance you expect from an everyday sponge.
2. Are your sponges durable?
Yes! They’re tough on grime but gentle on your dishes. Designed for everyday use, they hold up well through regular scrubbing- from baked-on messes to sticky pans.
3. How should I care for my sponge?
Rinse well after each use, squeeze out excess water, and allow it to air dry. For a deeper clean, you can place it in the dishwasher or microwave (while wet) for about 30 seconds.
4. How long do your sponges last?
With proper care, they typically last around 3–4 weeks depending on use. For the most effective scrubbing power, we recommend replacing every couple of weeks. At end of life, they can be disposed of with less environmental impact than traditional plastic sponges.
5. Are your sponges safe for all surfaces?
They’re designed to be non-scratch and safe for most common surfaces, including non-stick cookware, glass, stainless steel, and ceramics. As with any scrubber, we recommend testing on delicate surfaces first.

7. Is your packaging eco-friendly too?
Yes—our packaging is made from cardboard and is fully recyclable. We’ve designed it to minimize plastic and reduce waste wherever possible.
8. What is the piece of sandpaper that comes with the sponge holder for?
Our sponge holder is made from diatomite, a naturally absorbent mineral. Over time, minor stains can occur—these can be gently buffed away using the included fine-grain sandpaper.
9. Why are your eco-friendly sponges made in China?
We’ve partnered with a trusted, vetted manufacturer in China who shares our values and delivers the quality and durability we have yet to find domestically—despite extensive searching. While our long-term dream is to manufacture in-house or closer to home, we didn’t want to compromise on effectiveness. Offering a high-performing, plastic free and sustainable alternative—no matter where it’s made—is a step in the right direction, and we're proud to provide that option.
